On social media, Abel Ferreira saves memories of Palmeiras’ triumph at the Libertadores

This Sunday, Palmeiras celebrates one year of the third Copa Libertadores championship, won in the final played in Montevideo, against Flamengo. On his social media, coach Abel Ferreira has recovered some memories to celebrate the anniversary of the conquest.

The Portuguese coach has published a photo from a photo shoot with the Copa Libertadores. Subsequently, a video was released showing their reactions in the last seconds of the match, up to the final whistle, which decreed the Palmeiras title.

On 27 November 2021, Palmeiras beat Flamengo 2-1 in the only final played at the Estádio Centenário, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Raphael Veiga opened the scoring for Verdão early in the opening phase, and the cariocas equalized through Gabigol in the second half. Already in extra time, it was the turn of center forward Deyverson to score the winning goal and the Palmeiras title.

The club remembered the anniversary of its third Libertadores championship on its official profile on social networks.

In the campaign for the title, Palmeiras advanced fearlessly in the group that had Defensa y Justicia, from Argentina, Universitario, from Peru, and Independiente del Valle, from Ecuador. In the knockout stage, Abel Ferreira’s side overcame Universidad Católica, São Paulo and Atlético-MG before deciding against Flamengo.
