Timão must define arrivals, departures and stays in the last week of the year
After two days off for Christmas, Corinthians players and coaching staff will return to work at coach Joaquim Grava this Monday (26th) and will carry out activities until the 30th, when they will be released for the new year. The last week of the year will be important to define some departures, stays and arrivals.
The sector that will undergo the most changes is the left-back. Vasco agrees with Timão for the transfer of Lucas Pitonand the clubs began exchanging documents to complete the transaction. Therefore, it is unlikely that Snape will be under coach Joaquim Grava for the second part of the pre-season.
In place of Cria do Terrão, the Alvinegra management sided with Cruzeiro and will bring in Matheus Bidu, who played last season for Cruzeiro. The trend is for Bidu to sign a contract and join Corinthians training this week.
Another situation that is heading towards resolution is the outright purchase of Yuri Alberto. The Zenit representatives are in São Paulo to reach a common denominator with the Corinthians board with the intention of forwarding the “fig” of Yuri, who is on loan until June 2023 and wants to stay at the Parque São Jorge club.
A more pressing situation for the board to resolve is that of Maycon. The midfielder is on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk until 31 January, and the President Duílio Monteiro Alves has highlighted his intention to extend the stay of the number 5 shirt at the club🇧🇷 Ukrainians are looking closely at the European market and want to at least recover what they spent on hiring Maycon, in June 2018, when they pocketed 6.6 million euros (R$ 28.6 million at the time).
However, the club works to regulate the situations of the defender Raul Gustavo and the attacker Matthew Davo🇧🇷 Both are in talks with Cruzeiro and are attracting interest from other clubs, and the duo are unlikely to remain in Corinthians’ squad for 2023.
So far, striker Ángel Romero has been Timão’s only signing for next season. The team’s first official match will be on January 15, against Red Bull Bragantino, at the Nabizão stadium.
