“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” has scattered clues to decipher the mystery involving a very diverse group of friends, all of whom harbor secrets and have dark motives that make them suspicious.
Gay detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) must solve a case involving billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and his former partner Andi Brand (Janelle MonĂ¡e).
Plus, Connecticut Governor Claire DeBella (Kathryn Hahn), innovative scientist Lionel Toussaint (Leslie Odom Jr.), fashion designer Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson) and her assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick).
Finally, the group of friends is completed by tycoon Miles Bron, influencer Duke Cody (Dave Bautista) and his girlfriend Whiskey (Madelyn Cline).
All the characters gathered on Miles Bron’s private island are very different and with distinctive personalities that remind people of real life. This is no accident, as they are based on these real people.

‘Glass Onion’: Miles Bron is based on Elon Musk
The eccentric billionaire Miles Bronn in the film is considered a genius, although many of his ideas and achievements have been carried over from the work of others. In addition, he got his fortune thanks to his technology company.
The character is based on real-life millionaire Elon Musk, who also made his millions from his tech company and, like Miles, has ventured into different fields with businesses that aren’t always very successful.
Miles is arrogant, condescending to his so-called friends and always trying to look “cool”, so his personality is also inspired by Elon Musk.
‘Glass Onion’: Duke Cody is based on Joe Rogan
While it may seem like Dave Bautista’s character named Duke Cody in the Netflix movie is based on or represents many online celebrities, content creators or influencers, he has parallels with one in particular.
This is Joe Rogan, who like Duke is a supposed men’s rights activist and this has brought him a lot of controversy. Except for the fact that physically Dave Bautista looks a lot like Joe Rogan.
‘Glass Onion’: Birdie Jay is based on the Kardashians
Former model-turned-influencer Birdie is played by Kate Hudson in the film, and is based on distanced celebrities and the world around them.
In the film, Birdie throws a party in her apartment despite appearing to be in the midst of the COVID pandemic, breaking the rules of distancing and quarantine that have been common with the Kardashians.
“Glass Onion”: Lionel Toussaint is based on Steve Wozniak
If Miles Bronn is based on Elon Musk and tech moguls who take credit for other people’s ideas, then Lionel Toussaint is a dead ringer for Steve Wozniak in real life.
Lionel in the movie works for Miles and is the one who brings the millionaire’s ideas into reality, very similar to how Steve Wozniak made most of Steve Jobs’ ideas possible.
