This Saturday, 31, a man created havoc in front of the hotel where the president-elect and diplomat of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), is staying in Brasilia. The man gave the middle finger to PT supporters and was dismissed by the Military Police (PM).
According to people who were at the scene, the man cursed the protesters, who returned with a chorus of “Fora”.
The opposing demonstrator moved away on police orders and was taken by the arm.
The PT militants started positioning themselves in front of the hotel around 10:30. Wearing flags, T-shirts and red caps, the fans chanted “Olê, olê, olê, hello, Lula” and chanted “Lula, warrior of the Brazilian people”.
There was a dispersion around lunchtime, when it rained in the Brazilian capital. However, the site next to the hotel again gathered supporters around 3pm.
According to the PM, there are more than 450 militants.
During the day, there was a movement of embassy representatives who arrived at the hotel to meet the graduate president.
So far, members from Canada, Chile, Germany, Russia, Guinea Bissau, Spain, South Korea and Japan have arrived. A representative from the American embassy is still waiting to arrive.
