Star Wars continues to attract more and more fans around the world. With nine films in the main saga and countless canon and spin-off content, George Lucas’ creation is still going strong with new content.
In 2022 the news were “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Andor”, both on TV. Already in 2023 Lucasfilm and Disney have already shown that we will have news on the big screen and on Disney +. Check out everything we expect from Star Wars for 2023 below:
“The Bad Batch” (season 2) – January 4th
A new mission for Os Malfeitos begins on January 4, when the first two episodes of the second season of “The Bad Batch”, the animated series based on the Clone Force 99 created by Dave Filoni, which serves as a sequel and spin-off of the program ” The Clone Wars”.
“The Mandalorian” (season 3) – March 1
‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 premieres on March 1 and few details have leaked, but the first trailer does give hints as to what the next chapters could be.
Din Djarin is put on trial by Bo-Katan and the Mandalorian order for stripping his helmet, forcing him to deviate from his principles. The preview also shows how the father-son bond between the protagonist and baby Baby Yoda has intensified and that, ultimately, there are many more Mandalorians than we thought.
It’s also likely that Djarin will get caught up in Bo-Katan’s fight to take back Mandalore, as he promised to do if she and her Nite Owls help him save Grogu at the end of season two.
“Ahsoka” – Summer 2023
The Ahsoka series has become Star Wars’ biggest project, starring Rosario Dawson as the show’s star following the fall of the Empire and following the story of this ancient Jedi investigating an emerging threat in a vulnerable galaxy. The premiere is scheduled for the summer of 2023.
“Star Wars: Visions (Vol. 2)” – Spring 2023
“Star Wars: Visions (Vol. 2)” is expected to be released in the spring of 2023. The acclaimed animated series is produced by Japanese studios in an anime format and has attracted the audience of the animation style to the franchise.

“Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” – Spring 2023
Set during the High Republic era, the “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” series follows a group of children as they study the ways of the Force and become Jedi through compassion, self-discipline, teamwork, patience, and friendship. It will also be available to stream on Disney+ and Disney Junior in Spring 2023.
“Skeleton Crew” – Sometime in 2023
With Jude Law leading the cast and created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, “Skeleton Crew” is another series scheduled for 2023, still with no confirmed date. It will be in the timeline of “The Mandalorian” and will be based on a group of children lost in the galaxy trying to find their way back home.
