the Chilean Francisco “Chaleco” López Contardo won the first special of the light prototypes of the Dakar Rally 2023 which took place this Sunday morning (1). The reigning champion of the category completed the 367 timed kilometers in 3h48min36. the Belgian Guillaume de Meviusof the Grallyteam, finished in second position, exactly two minutes after the leader. Seth Quintero, partner of Red Bull de Contardo, finished in third place with a time of 3min51s56.
the American Austin Joneswhich the Brazilian has Gustav Gugelmin as a partner he finished fourth, followed by Ignacio Casale. João Ferreira, Mitchell Guthrie, Helder Rodrigues, Jean-Luc Ceccaldi-Pisson and Cristina Gutiérrez Herrero completed the top ten.

In UTVs, another win for Red Bull comes from Roka Baciuska, who had already triumphed in the prologue on Saturday. The Lithuanian completed the first special with a time of 4h38, two minutes and six seconds ahead of the Polish Eryk Goczal, of the team energyland. The Spanish Paul Navarrowho has French Adrian Metge as a teammate he finished third with a time of 4h4min10s.
The Polish Michal Goczal was fourth, followed by the Brazilian Rodrigo Luppi de Oliveira, who finished the stage with a time of 4h7min9s, six minutes and 31 seconds behind the leader. Rodrigo led until kilometer 88, but then ended up losing the initial lead.
Spaniard Juan Miguel Fidel Ferrero is sixth, followed by Jeremías Gonzalez Ferioli, Marek Goczal and another Brazilian, Bruno Conti de Oliveira. The South Racing driver completed the special in 4h13min18, completing it with a gap of more than 12 minutes from the leader. Spaniard Gerard Farres Guell closed the top ten on Sunday morning.
The Dakar Rally returns this Monday (2), for the second special of 2023 departing from Sea Campe towards Alula, with a total of 430 timed kilometres.
