And filming is already underway! We tell you everything we know about the sequel to the film, which we already know will not adapt the novels written by Ariana Godoy to the letter.
The phenomenon of ‘Through my window’ has arrived on Netflixbut those who have reached the end and have been left wanting more will surely be wondering: Will there be a second part in the love story between Raquel and Ares? The answer is yes: Netflix has confirmed that there will be two sequels. We already knew that the film, based on the novel by Ariana Godoy and released on February 4, has a sufficiently open ending for us to imagine the possibilities of a sequel. Now, there is no need to imagine any more: the continuation of the story is a reality.
Directed by Marçal Forés and with a script by Godoy herself, the film follows Raquel, a teenager with literary aspirations dealing with the early loss of her father and her insecurities as a writer as she enters a phase of exploration and sexual awakening. the main The protagonist of her fantasies (and her stories on paper) is Ares, one of her neighbors and the middle son of the powerful Hidalgo family.. It turns out that Raquel’s modest house still stands very close to the Hidalgo’s grand mansion, and through her window, young Ella can watch them from a distance. One day, she discovers that the boy of her dreams is stealing her Wi-Fi, and by confronting him, a romantic relationship begins that will develop in unexpected ways for both of them.

‘Through my window’: will the sequels be true to Ariana Godoy’s novels?
At first, the sequels to ‘Through my window’ will follow the main story of Raquel and Ares, so no, they will not be totally faithful to the novels of the writer Ariana Godoy. They will be, as Netflix said in the announcement, “unpublished stories.”
Baptized as ‘The trilogy of the Hidalgo’, Godoy’s saga consists of three books: the first is the one that adapts the film ‘Through my window’, the second is entitled ‘Through you’ and was published in November 2021, and the third will be published throughout this 2022 under the title ‘A through the rain’. In them, the story does not necessarily continue with Raquel and Ares, but instead focuses on the other Hidalgo brothers. The second installment talks about Artemis, the eldest, while the third focuses on the youngest of the family, Apolo.. We have met both of them in their film versions played by Eric Masip and Hugo Arbués, respectively.
Netflix could have followed the example of ‘The Bridgertons’ and centered each movie on one of the brothers, but it seems that prefers to stay with Raquel and Ares.
‘Across the sea’: how will the story of ‘Through my window’ continue?

[A continuación comentamos spoilers del final de ‘A través de mi ventana’]
First, let’s talk about where exactly does the story leave us at the end of ‘Through my window’ and what possibilities for the future does it present.
At the beginning of the film, Raquel is determined that Ares falls in love with her. What she doesn’t know at the time is that Ares has had a crush on his neighbor for a long time. As the young man reveals at the end of the film, broke his router and stole her wifi password just to have an excuse to talk to her. And boy did it work. Although at first theirs didn’t quite work out due to Ares’s fears of commitment and feelings, finally both let themselves be carried away in a romance that, moreover, will empower them. Raquel will gain confidence to finally be able to present her stories to the world and stop reading again and again that novel that her late father never had the courage to publish, and for his part, Ares will gain courage to face his father and decide for himself. what you want to do with your life.

And that’s how we get to the end of the movie. After a scare in which Ares almost died when he fell into a pool with chlorine, to which he is allergic, the Hidalgo family begins to understand that their heirs must have the freedom to continue their path beyond the family business. A) Yes, Ares decides to study medicine abroad, which means that his relationship with Raquel will become a long-distance relationship.. Both are sad that this is the case, as their tears say goodbye at the airport, but at the same time they are happy that they can both follow their dreams. So does it too Raquel, whom we see in the last scene reading her first novel in front of her classmates at the University of Barcelona. The novel, of course, is called ‘Through my window’ and recounts her love story with Ares. To applause, she realizes that she is exactly where she wants to be.
So, what does this mean for our lovebirds? Will Raquel and Ares meet again? Will their long-distance relationship work out or, like so many couples before them, will they end up forgetting their summer romance in favor of a new life full of different people and purposes? As we now know, Netflix will continue to explore their history, perhaps showing us how they are maintaining that relationship at a distance and the problems they must overcome to make it work (in the style of the ‘My First Kiss’ saga), and thus revealing to us if theirs was something more that the first and ephemeral love. At the moment there is no official synopsis for the sequel to ‘Through My Window’.

What this first film has done well is introduce the problems of the other Hidalgo that we imagine will also gain prominence in the sequels despite the fact that they are not the protagonistsLike it happens in the books. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ariana Godoy took some parts of her already published novels to compose this unpublished story for Netflix. The positive side? Fans of the books may be surprised and not expecting everything to turn out exactly the same as on paper.
‘Across the sea’: the cast

Now that we know Netflix has opted to continue the ‘Through My Window’ story, we also know which cast members will be back. And yes, they are all the protagonists that we have already met:
In addition, three new actors join the cast of ‘Across the sea’: Andrea Chaparro, Ivan Lapadula and Carla Tous. It is still unknown which characters they will play.
We will be attentive to more news!
