Although there have been some later conversations tron the legacyIn the 2010 pitch about a possible sequel, the idea seemed to fade into development limbo until around 2017, when rumors spread that Jared Leto was in talks to star. Fast forward to today and Deadline reports that Joachim Rønning is in talks to lead what is currently known as Tron: Ares.
Despite talk of a reboot in the mix there, it seems Tron: Ares in fact, it will be a direct continuation of Heredity, written by Jesse Wigutow. No plot details have been released, but it appears Leto is playing Ares, a character featured in previous drafts of the script.
