The reboot of ‘Gossip Girl’ cancels its third season

    ‘Gossip Girl’ will not have a third season.

    The second batch of chapters is still being broadcast on HBO Max. Nevertheless, the platform of streaming has already confirmed that he will not continue producing the sequel in future episodes (as reported Deadline).

    An HBO spokesperson commented: “We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for taking us back to the Upper East Side and letting us in on the new scandals of the Constance Billard.

    However, we will not continue with a third season of ‘Gossip Girl’. We thank you for the tantalizing love triangles, calculated backstabbing, and impeccable fashion this series has brought back to a new audience.”

    The producer, Joshua Safran, also shared the news with fans through his social media accounts. He confirmed the cancellation “with great regret“. The producer also anticipated that, perhaps, there could be a new home for the reboot.

    The other executive producers and I will always be grateful to the platform and the studio for their faith and support.; to the writers for their brilliant minds and his talent; to the amazing cast for being the best collaborators and friends; Y to the team for their hard work, dedication and his love for the project,” he posted on Twitter.

    “This has been the best set I’ve ever worked on, from start to finish. We are looking for a new home but in this climate it can be a little uphill. So, If this is the end, at least we left at the best possible time.”

    Although the reboot ‘Gossip Girl’ has introduced a whole cast of new characters from the Constance Billardhas also made numerous references to the franchise’s original protagonists and elements.

    ‘Gossip Girl’ is available on HBO Max.
