Phase 4 of Marvel ended in style with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Despite bumps along the way, MCU introduced new heroes and opened the door for series from the disney+.

Phase 5 already has the first confirmed production: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which premieres in a month, on February 16th. the head of Marvel, Kevin Feigeexplained the choice in an interview with empire (via Cinema Observatory):

“We wanted to kick off Marvel Phase 5 with Ant Man because he earned that position. Not to be backup or comic relief, but to take her place at the top of the podium of the MCU,” argued the executive.

“Start to Phase 5 it’s really exciting for us. It’s our third film. The things that happen in this movie will change the marvel cinematic universe permanently,” said director Peyton Reed at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. “And it’s fun for us that Scott Lang be at the center of this change,” he added.

Besides rudd in the role of Scott Langthe list of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania count with Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne/Wasp), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne), Bill Murray, Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror), between others.
