Marvel confirms the cast of ‘Thunderbolts’

The ‘Thunderbolts’ They were the protagonists of one of the biggest announcements of Disney’s last D23 2022, in which he announced news about Star Wars, Marvel, Avatar and Indiana Jones.

The announcement of a movie about this group of superheroes was just a month earlier, at the San Diego Comic Con in August 2022, when Kevin Feige turned Hall H of the convention upside down announcing Phases 5 and 6 of Marvel’s MCU.

But,who are the members of this group of heroes (or antiheroes, rather)? How will they fit into the MCU?

‘Thunderbolts’, Cast and characters

The original lineup of the comics first appeared in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ number 449, in 1997. That first group was made up of Atlas (Goliath), MACH-I (Beetle), Citizen V (Helmut Zemo), Meteorite (Moonstone), Songbird (Mimi Howler) and Techno (Fixer). Do they ring a bell? Me neither.

Over time, the formation has varied and changed its members, although what matters to us is who will be in the film adaptation. And they will be the following:

– Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus)which we have already seen recruiting several of the members of this team in a couple of post-credit scenes.

– US Agent (Wyatt Russell)previously seen in ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’.

– Red Guardian (David Harbour). The character played by the ‘Stranger Things’ actor made his first appearance in the movie ‘Black Widow’.

– Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko). She was the villain of ‘Black Widow’.

– Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). Another character from ‘Black Widow’. She is the favorite to replace Scarlett Johansson’s character in future Avengers. We also saw her in the series ‘Hawkeye’.

– Ghost (Hannah John Kamen). She was the villain of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’. The most unexpected surprise on the list.

– Winter Soldier. Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) he is the most prominent and most prolific member of the formation.

Also, Ayo Edebiri, one of the stars of ‘The Bear’, the most stressful Disney+ series of 2022, will also join the cast in a yet undisclosed role.

‘Thuderbolts’, Director and Release Date

The ‘Thunderbolts’ movie will be directed by Jake Schreier (‘A Friend for Frank’, ‘Paper Towns’) and will be released worldwide on July 26, 2024if the usual delays and dances of dates of this type of productions do not prevent it.
