There’s something wicked under the bed in the trailer for Stephen King’s adaptation The Boogeyman

The scary things that lurk under children’s beds have been a terror ever since there have been, well, children and beds. And although there have been many film versions of the concept, only black man can boast both a Stephen King story as the theme and Guest Director Rob Savage. Check out the first trailer for the new film below…

The screenplay is an adaptation of King’s story (originally published in Gentleman revised in 1973 before appearing in the author’s 1978 collection night patrol to A quiet place duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, with additional work by Mark Heyman.

bogeyman follows high school student Sadie Harper (Sophie Thatcher) and her younger sister Sawyer (Obi-Wan Kenobiby Vivien Lyra Blair) are recovering from the recent death of their mother and don’t get much support from their father, Will (Chris Messina), a therapist struggling with his own grief. When a desperate patient shows up unexpectedly at his home asking for help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on the families and suffering of its victims.

We can’t wait to see what Savage can unleash now that he doesn’t have the limits of POV terror he brought to Guest Yup DASHCAM. bogeyman will be released in theaters in the United States on June 2; a UK date has yet to be confirmed.
