The Weeknd achieved his fifth diamond-certified single with the track “Earned It”
The Weeknd continues to break records in the music industry. The most played artist on Spotify today has earned yet another diamond certification with the track “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey),” from disk Beauty Behind the Madness.
This is the fifth single from Abel Tesfaye to reach the mark after “The Hills,” “starboy,” “Blinding Lights,” It is “Can’t Feel My Face.” That makes the album Beauty Behind the Madness the first in history with three diamond-certified tracks, according to the American Recording Industry Association (RIAA).
The acclamation of “earned it” is not recent. The composition of The Weeknd was nominated to oscar in the category Best Original Songas part of the soundtrack of Fifty Shades of grey (2015), and won a Grammy for the Best R&B Performance.
Most played song of all time
“Blinding Lights,” of The Weekndsurpassed the success “Shape Of You,” in Ed Sheeran, and became the most played song in Spotify history. As determined by Chartdatathe single from the fourth disc of abel it has over 3.332 billion streams on the platform. The two tracks are the only ones to cross the 3 billion mark.
