Last Friday, the 17th, an unexpected video appeared on the official channel of Olivia Newton-John on Youtube. In the clip, the artist interprets the verses of “Jolene” next to the iconic Dolly Partonas part of a special project by the star of grease (via NME).
Known worldwide for her work alongside john travolta in the 1978 film, Olivia Newton-John passed away in August last year, aged 73. Before leaving, however, the artist was producing a special project, which will be released later this year.
This is a duet album titled Just the Two of Us: The Duets Collection. Invited by the actress, then, Dolly Parton is one of the voices present on the album — and sings one of his best-known songs, the hit “Jolene”, released in mid-1974.
“We’ve always stayed close over the years and I’m really proud to be a part of this duet project that she’s doing,” he said. Dolly Parton, on video. “We are singing one of my [músicas] favorites I’ve ever written,’Jolene‘. She says it’s one of her favorites, so why not duet with our favorite?”
In a press release about the project, Olivia Newton-John He also spoke about his relationship with Dolly Parton. “[Dolly] was always there for me and what she did for me early on in my career in Nashville is something I will never forget.”
As of now, all the tracks on the album have yet to be revealed. Just the Two of Us: The Duets Collection. With names like Mariah Carey, michael mcdonald, john travolta, Barry Gibb, Vanessa Amorosi, Jon Secada It is Chloe Lattanzi on the setlist, however, the album should be released on May 5th of this year.
