Recorded presentation of the artist where he interprets other artists and makes it available on the net
During the pandemic, Diogo Nogueira has not been able to stop. When he received an invitation from a guitarist friend to record a Cartola song, he was given the beginning of “Eu, Violões e Canções”, in which he plays several Brazilian artists. The show arrives this Thursday, 16, on YouTube, and the artist tells a little about what to expect from the presentation and the immediate future of him.
Cucamonga – “Eu, Violões e Canções” was a show that was consolidated in live shows during the pandemic. Can you tell the process?
Diogo Nogueira – As soon as the pandemic started, there was a movement of artists doing collaborative projects, each recording songs in their own homes and also piecing together the videos they each made. Rogério Caetano, who is one of the best musicians in Brazil, invited me and also invited another beast, Rafael dos Anjos, to record a Cartola song. The sound of Rogério’s 7-string guitar with Rafael’s 6-string guitar fascinated me a lot and the result was incredible. Thinking about taking it on stage became a goal and as soon as the pandemic was over we played a show in Rio which showed us that we had a special show. Thus was born “Eu, guitars and songs”, now available worldwide on the YouTube channel of the Teatro Bradesco.
C – What was and is the importance of the two guitarists, Rafael dos Anjos and Rogério Caetano?
DN – Both are geniuses and are among the best musicians today. The way they play, the tones of 6 and 7 string guitars are unique. Lucky for me to be with them.
C – What has changed from the repertoire when it was conceived to the current one?
DN – We have made a selection of important Brazilian music classics, from Cartola to Lulu Santos. The structure of the show has changed little from the first repertoire we chose, but little by little we have included new songs and built this repertoire that will be shown in this live.
C – How much has cooking occupied a place in your career with entertainment and the pandemic?
DN – I’ve always enjoyed cooking and the pandemic has shed more light on that, as I’ve made a lifetime of teaching people how to make my recipes. Cooking is a pleasure for me.
C – Can you indicate what do you think are the unusual points of the exhibition for an artist like you?
DN – The format itself is unusual for me as I’ve always had great bands. It is a more intimate show, this is the proposal, the famous “less is more”.
C – How is the presentation in a project like “Teatro Bradesco Presentes” and the availability of the show in digital version?
DN – The recording was wonderful and everything is very beautiful. Being able to present this to everyone on YouTube is a joy and an opportunity for everyone to have access to this special show.
C – What are the next steps you plan?
DN – This year has many new features, from the recording of an album of unreleased songs to an audiovisual project celebrating the first 15 years of his career. Wait for the good things to come!
