Jimmy Page released a demo of “The Seasons,” which became “The Rain Song”

jimmy pagelegendary guitarist Led Zeppelin, released unreleased material from the band. An unreleased, instrumental demo of “The Seasons” was published on YouTube. The track would become “The Rain Song,” from disk Houses Of The Holy (1973).

“My original idea for the opening tracks on the record was an instrumental intro layered with electric guitar leading up to ‘The Seasons,’ which was named ‘The Rain Song‘ later. Again, there would be an acoustic guitar contrasting the instrumental movement and a mellotron, which would lead to the first vocals on the album and the first verse of the song,” Page explained in the video description (via NME).

“‘The Seasons‘ were my notes to remember the sequence of the song and various ideas I had in the embryonic stage. I worked overnight at home. During the production of the overture, now called ‘The Plumpton And Worcester Races,’ half the session was born and turned into ‘The Song Remains The Same,” he added.
