Brian highlighted that playing the instrument was a way of expressing feelings, as well as singing: “All I did was play how I felt. Using the guitar as my voice. I’m not the best singer – nor the best guitarist, but thank you for that – and I try to make the guitar sing for me.”
steve vai, jimmy page, Eric Clapton It is Jimi Hendrix were some of the names mentioned by him, until reaching the leader of the Nirvana: “Guitarists have nothing to prove. It’s not a competition. Kurt Cobain is a good example. He didn’t work hard to get too technical, but he left his legacy with some of the greatest guitar music of all time. It’s not about technique, it’s about what you feel and how that feeling runs through your playing.”
