Smells Like Teen Spirit” is the most popular song of Kurt Cobain in Brazil. O ecad – Central Office of Collection and Distribution – revealed that the song is the most played and most recorded by the musician in Brazil. (Via Estadão)

The revelation was made in honor of the 55th anniversary of cobain on February 20, 2022. The office released a ranking with the artist’s songs that were most played in the last five years in Brazil, in the main segments of public performance, and were most recorded by other performers.

The lists were made based on the 126 songs and 273 recordings of cobain registered by ECAD. Check out the Top 10 in each category:

No one paid much attention to “Smells Like Teen Spirit”

Dave Grohl revealed that the Nirvana “was just having fun” in rehearsals when he wrote “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and the band did not imagine the worldwide success of the song. “I think everyone was more focused on songs like ‘In Bloom‘ or ‘Lithium‘ or ‘Breed‘; no one paid much attention to ‘Teen Spirit‘ while we were recording. We just thought it was another cool song for the album.”
