In the last photo published on Rita Lee’s networks, she appears smiling and waving: ‘It’s late, I’m going. I have to leave, see you tomorrow…”

Rita Lee’s children thanked the support and compliments of the public who attended the event wake of the singer this Wednesday, 10, rainy, in the Ibirapuera parkand which have manifested themselves on social networks. Rita Lee died on Monday night, 8, at the age of 75after a battle with lung cancer that began in 2021.

It was Rita Lee who chose the Ibirapuera Planetarium as the place for her wake. It was open to the public until 5pm, and for the next two hours, the space was closed so family and close friends could say hello to the rock queen.

At the exit, with discretion, the sons of Rita Lee, Beto, João and Antonio, approached the fans, who were waiting for the hearse to depart – and followed it, in their last tribute to the star -, and, with a few words and gestures, like a hand on the heart, thanked everyone for coming.

They also popped up on social media, on or after Rita Lee’s death.

João Lee asked, in an Instagram post, people to tell how they related to his mother, who he called a “divine, enlightened and blessed star.”

He wrote: “Whether it was for some show, some lyrics, some music, some attitude, some personal questions, a book, a tweet, when, how, who I was with, anyway, whatever you want to tell me. I promise to read everything written here. I’m sure wherever she is, she will too. Thank you for the flood of messages of love and support. You all live in my heart.”

Antonio Lee wrote that he hopes his mother visits him in his dreams to continue the long conversations about the universe.

And Beto Lee posted, in English: “A big part of me died today.”

In the latest post published on the singer’s official account, Rita Lee smiles, sitting in an airport, with red hair, a suitcase by her side, and greets her husband Roberto de Carvalho, who was behind the camera. “It’s late, I’m going now. I have to leave, see you tomorrow…”, she reads the message with an excerpt from the song Menino de Braçanã.
