the drummer Alan Whiteknown for being part of the progressive rock band yes, died at age 72. The death was announced by the group on Thursday, the 26th – but the cause has not yet been disclosed.
“It is with great sadness that the yes announces that Alan Whitetheir beloved friend and drummer for 50 years, has died, aged 72, after a brief illness.
Born in England, White entered the yes in 1972 to replace Bill Bruford, four years after the band was formed. He was the oldest member of the band currently.
Before joining the Yes, White played drums for other bands and even participated in some of the ex-Beatlesas “Imagine,” in John Lennonand “All Things Must Pass,” in George Harrison.
In 2017, White inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with his band, Yes.
