Grilo makes an electrifying and memorable show at Blue Note SP in the middle of Wednesday

Band from São Paulo energized Blue Note SP and audience got up and jumped with the anthems of Pedro Martins, Lucas Teixeira, Felipe “Fepa” Martins and Gabriel Cavallari

the cricket managed, with mastery, to put on an electrifying and memorable show on the intimate stage of Blue Note SP, event venue located on Avenida Paulista, at 8pm on a Wednesday. The band from São Paulo even made the audience stand up and jump at different times during the performance.

The project guests new voicesgives Rolling Stone Brazilwere dressed in blazers and dress shirts (after all, it was the Blue Note) last Wednesday night, the 25th. The group is formed by Pedro Martins (vocal), Lucas Teixeira (drums), Felipe “Fepa” Martins (guitar) and Gabriel Cavallari (low). At the show, they had the support of Diego Vargasband pianist Featherand the multi-instrumentalist PH.

With a relatively short career, the cricket released an EP (hero of the future), a disk full (You do not know anything) and a few singles in those five years or so. In the performance started by “Leash,” the people from São Paulo knew how to divide their attention between old songs, hits and new ones.

Then the band played one of the main hits of You do not know anything (2022), “guitar,” and amended the romantic ballad “Sofia.” Their album had a lot of prominence, with “I will take it” and “against the grain” in the sequel. Those fans who expected to see iconic hits were also contemplated: there was “samba” and “existentialist serenade” sung at the top of their lungs by a good part of the audience.

It is worth remembering how “mini covers” of “you didn’t know how to love me,” from the band blitzand “Come as You Are,” of Nirvana. In addition, each member had time to shine on stage: Pedro Martins with a very tuned voice, he sent a few dances; Lucas Teixeira with the strong and striking drums (it is also very popular with the public); Fepain addition to being a great guitarist, took a chance on vocals in “where flower“; and Gabriel Cavallari had great bass solos.

the cricket dominated the stage from start to finish, captivated the audience and showed how the quartet from São Paulo has a great future ahead of them.
