The death of photographer Pedro de Moraes was confirmed by his daughter Mariana
Pedro de Moraesphotographer and son of the singer Vinicius de Moraes, died this Friday, 27, at the age of 79. He contracted bacteria and was hospitalized at Casa de Saúde São José, in Rio de Janeiro, where he died.
Mariana de Moraessinger and daughter of Pedroconfirmed the news on Instagram (via Brazilian Mail): “My father died just now, at 1:40 pm, on my mother’s birthday. Great photographer. Unique human being. Much loved. He almost reached 80. He rested.”
Pedro is the son of vinicius with the journalist Tati de Moraes. As a photographer, he covered events from the 1950s to the 1970s, as well as directing photography for national films.
The wake took place this Saturday, from 9 am to 3 pm, at the city’s historical museum, while the funeral took place at 4 pm, at São João Batista Cemetery, also in Rio de Janeiro.
