Sam Smith took the stage and only played four songs before he had to cancel his set.
Sam Smith had to interrupt his show last Wednesday night, the 24th, in Manchester, England, after playing just four songs. Two other planned dates in the country were also cancelled.
A vocal problem Smith was the reason for the interruption. After performances of “stay with me,” “I’m Not The Only One,” “Like I Can” It is “Too Good At Goodbyes,” the lights in the house went out while the public tried to figure out what was going on. The official information came minutes later, when the production asked the fans to leave the place, according to the Manchester Evening News.
“I honestly don’t know what to say. I battled a virus a few weeks ago. Since then I’ve traveled around Europe and played amazing shows. Today during sound check I was feeling good and excited to deliver a wonderful show in Manchester, with a special surprise at the end,” Smith stated on social media.
“During the third song, I noticed something strange with my voice. I hoped she was just waking up for the show, but by the fourth song I felt something was very wrong. I got down from the stage and tried everything to get my voice in place, but it didn’t work. I’m heartbroken that I couldn’t finish the show. I love you all. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” he added.
