“My fiancée, my love for you will always be greater than all universes, it will be infinite, it will be sacred, I promise you,” Roberto wrote in the caption of the photo in which Rita appears, apparently at her home, where she spent the last years of his life. , already away from the stage.
Since Rita died on May 8, Roberto has released numerous statements to the singer on his social networks. In one of them, where Rita appears pointing at a rainbow, he wrote. “My little love”. In another post, he showed internet users that he had chosen the camellias of Rita, a singer who is very attached to nature and animals.
Last week, while participating in the podcast Rita Lee: Another Autobiographypresented by Astrid Fontenelle and Guilherme Samora, Roberto said that he and Rita talked a lot about death during the pandemic period.
“With the pandemic, we’ve talked a lot about the possibility of people climbing the ladder too (dying). It was a topic that was not indigestible to us. It was something we talked about very naturally. We even joked about how people wanted it to happen, because we didn’t want it to happen. There was no personal drama related to it. There was a much more drama related to the people around, to the children, to the grandchildren: everyone fell ill with covid”.
Roberto also said that since he and Rita retired from the stage in 2003, they already had the vision that the world they lived in was no longer theirs. “We were hippies, something else, a lot of love and a lot of peace. And that’s what we expressed in music and life attitude,” he said.
Rita and Roberto met in the second half of the 70s and formed a partnership after the Babilônia album in 1978. From that moment on, the duo became one of the greatest representatives of Brazilian pop/rock, releasing hits such as obsession with you, dance with Me, Perfume launcher, Health, Brokenamong many others.
Their latest released collaboration was the song Editfrom 2021.
