Beatles: The day Paul McCartney ‘saved’ the band with a lawsuit

Paul McCartney made a move to take power away from Allen Klein, former manager of the Beatles

When Beatles was about to end Paul McCartney made a drastic decision to “save” the Fab Fouralso formed by John Lennon, Ringo Starr It is George Harrison. The legendary singer, bassist and songwriter decided to sue his then-bandmates, as Cheat Sheet Showbiz remembered.

When the group disbanded in 1970, McCartney sued the other three musicians from Beatleswith a view to preventing Allen Klein, a former manager, had control over the finances and music of the legendary rock band. About 50 years after that event, the artist recalled the subject during an interview with QA british.

In the conversation, the rock star explained how, if he had not started the lawsuit, the group would have lost everything and would not have been able to remaster any of the songs in the following years. “The only way to save the Beatles and the apple – and launch Get Backin peter jacksonwhich allowed us to launch Anthology and all these great remasters of all the great records of the Beatles – was to sue the band,” he said.

If I hadn’t done this, everything would have belonged to Allen Klein. The only way I was given to get us out of this was to do what I did.
