To celebrate 100 years of Copacabana Palace, Alok will perform the biggest show of his career on Copacabana Beach for all audiences
About to start the extensive schedule of concerts abroad, Alok announced this Tuesday, the 27th, the biggest show of his career, totally free, on Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro.
On August 26, the Brazilian DJ will celebrate his birthday and the centenary of the Copacabana Palace hotel, considered historical and cultural heritage of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, in a show that will celebrate the roots of Brazilian music with unprecedented visuals and unprecedented lighting with lights and lasers never seen in Brazil.
In a press conference held, which was attended by Rolling Stone Brazil, Alok celebrated this milestone in his personal life and career, with great expectations of ‘making history in the city’.
Professional life always has great events that become watersheds in our lives. This show will certainly represent another one in my career”
Among other news, Alok will bring together members of the 12 samba schools of the special group from Rio de Janeiro to honor the roots of samba, one of Brazil’s most important genres, along with electronic music. The show will feature an unprecedented stage in the shape of a pyramid, with a 360º view, covered with very high definition LEDs, which bears the signature of Abel Gomes, set designer and VP of Creation at SRCOM.
“I thought of a stage that could emanate energy to the city. Historically, the geometric shape of the pyramids is seen as a portal that connects with its apex and with the cosmic energy of the universe, and distributes this force to everyone around it, creating an Egrégore, a collective energetic alignment that propagates thoughts and feelings to the world”, says Abel.
Held by SRCOM, in partnership with Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, the event is sponsored by GWM Brasil, the show’s presenting brand. Other sponsors will be announced soon.
