However, the news has just surfaced and influencers and new entrepreneurs in the area are already having problems with the new business.
As it happens, Viih Tube is in the midst of a patent dispute with another company that is already on the market, and which already has an almost identical name, Babytub. The brand in question is a manufacturer of hot tubs for babies and children that is well known among families. The company in question has been in the business for years.
According to columnist Mariana Morais of the Em Off portal, Viih Tube recently applied to the INPI to register the name of its new brand in classes 28 and 35. However, the Babytub brand already had registrations in similar classes, in this case, in 35. Therefore, the influencer’s request in this class will surely be rejected.
Furthermore, after Viih Tube requested enrollment in the other class, 28, the competitor Babytub tried to run and ask for a new enrollment to cope with the youtuber’s attempt. While Viih Tube initially applied for registration, it will not necessarily be successful, as Babytub can demonstrate that it has been using the trademark for much longer on the market.
