Morrissey cancels sold-out show ‘due to unforeseen circumstances’

With tickets sold out, Morrissey canceled his performance in Nottingham, England, this Sunday (9)

Morrissey canceled their scheduled sold-out show in Nottingham, England, this Sunday (9). The former lead singer of The Smiths was due to perform at the city’s Royal Concert Hall as part of its current UK and Ireland tour.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Morrissey at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall will not take place tonight,” read a tweet from Gigs And Tours, the official website promoting the concerts of the Morrissey. “Ticket holders are asked to keep their tickets and a further announcement will be made in due course.”

In a follow-up post, the company confirmed that the upcoming Morrissey remained “unchanged” and “should take place as planned” at Millennium Square in Leeds this Wednesday (July 12).

Morrissey has yet to comment on the cancellation and no further details are available at this time.

Last month, Morrissey shared plans for a special live tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of his music career. The shows will take place in South America, including Brazil, and in North America in September/October.
