Jorginho Neto announces “Deny” with Simoninha

the trombonist Jorginho Neto announces his new single Denywhich will feature the singer Simonina. The track is a samba music which will be on digital platforms on the day August 18thalong with its official video.

“A samba funk made especially for Simoninha” – hence, the trombonist Jorginho Neto termed Nega, which has lyrics that venerate the beauty of black women.

Influenced by the music of Wilson Simonal (1938-2000), Jorginho reiterates his admiration for father and son: “A song that struck me a lot is Tributo, a composition that Simonal wrote with Ronaldo Bôscoli about racism, in homage to Martin Luther King and I identify with this struggle”, says the musician.

And he adds: “I’ve done several shows with Simoninha and I think he has carried on his father’s legacy, and with a lot of swing he also represents black music in Brazil.”

In the band, in addition to Jorginho, there are Denison Martins (baritone sax), Sidmar Viera (trumpet), Carlinhos Noronha (Bass), Eric Bridge (guitar), Gustavo Bugni (rhodes piano) e Tuto Ferraz (drums). Musical direction, arrangements, lyrics and music are signed by Jorginho Neto.

Jorginho’s work has been recognized in various jazz festivals in Brazil and around the world, such as New York (United States), a Summer Festival BrazilAND Uruguay and not street jazz. With five albums recorded, he has performed with artists such as Frank Sinatra Jr, Roberto Menescal, Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, Ivan Lins, Dom Salvadoramong others.
