The singer also spoke about female empowerment
In an interview with french vogue, Dua Lipa talked about motherhood and her plans for the moment, at the age of 28 the singer says she does not intend to be a young mother and that she is working on a new album when she was asked about children.
“The only baby I’m thinking about is my new album.”
And she explained that women currently have more power to choose what they want to do and when they want to do it, to follow their passions, dreams and desires: I think women have acquired a place in society that was previously forbidden. And yet, the desire to have children disappeared? I think women want to do things at their own pace and not feel guilty about thinking about themselves.”
The singer added: “For me, when the time is right, I will know. But until then, I have other priorities. I want to continue making the most of my youth.”
Dua Lipa gave more thoughts on feminism and current society: “I also see this endless criticism of women’s choices. It’s like navigating a minefield right from the start,” she said. “For me, it’s very important to respect women’s choices, whatever they may be.”
The singer also extended her opinion to the LGBTQ+ community and provided her support: “Homophobia and transphobia are neighbors of misogyny. Many people, deep down, are afraid of themselves. The freedom of others forces them to accept something they are afraid to express. The beauty of being free, true and proud paralyzes them.”
