Metronomy announces indefinite touring break

In an announcement made by Instagram, the group assured that it is not splitting up, but spoke of touring hiatus “for a few years”

O Metronomy announced a hiatus from touring “for a few years”. The news came in a post on the band’s official Instagram profile, which made it clear that the group is not disbanding – but that it should step away from the stage indefinitely.

It is the group’s first official hiatus. Joseph Mount, Oscar Cash, Anna Prior, Olugbenga Adelekan It is Michael Lovettwhich has been active since 1999 and has seven studio albums – the most recent, small worldlaunched in 2022.

In the announcement, written by Mount, he reveals that he had already been leaving hints that they would be the last shows, but that now the decision is official. The note also says that the group has prepared some things for the stage break. The two remaining dates of Metronomy’s last tour before the hiatus, scheduled for November in Mexico and Miami, are maintained.

We are NOT breaking up.
But we’re about to take a hiatus from touring for a few years. We still have an upcoming show in Mexico and another one in Miami, and that’s it… until the time is right.

Thank you all for making this last tour and last few shows so special, you probably didn’t realize it would be the last shows in a way (although I mumbled something about it) which made it even more special.

Thank you to our entire tour crew, who are definitely the best in the industry <3

There will be things happening between now and our live comeback, of course, but we’ll see each other in a few years… unless we see each other in Mexico or Miami.
