Criticized for her performance at The Town, the singer confused the Estadão ranking with a professional opinion and responded with prejudiced attacks
Iggy Azalea starred in an unfortunate clash with a Brazilian journalist after his passage through The Town last Saturday (2). The Australian singer, who performed on the festival’s Skyline stage in the early evening of the festival’s opening, was criticized by the public and the press and countered some comments – even making use of ageist attacks on the journalist José Norberto Flesch.

columnist for orbit(UOL), respected and known in the Brazilian music press for his scoops, Flesch listed in his profile on X the best and worst shows of the festival so far, according to a list made by Estadão. At the top of the worst performances was Azalea, considered “forgettable” by the publication.
The artist then publicly responded to Flesch’s post with offenses to the professional. In addition to calling him “old” and “ugly”, the singer also said that she does not make music for him: “you are not invited!”
In his profile on X, Flesch mentioned the case and the singer, saying:

“Hi @IGGYAZALEA
From the lyrics of her “songs”, I always realized that she wasn’t good at interpretation, now, in addition to being stupid, she showed prejudice. And I don’t think there’s that much public to want to say that older people are not their target audience. But word of mouth: if you’re older, don’t listen to Iggy Azalea. She doesn’t make music for you.”
In addition to Flesch, Azalea publicly responded to other criticisms of her concert in São Paulo:
“I want to see you put on a pair of heels and perform in a storm on a slippery stage,” wrote the singer in response to a post by Pop’s HQ profile on X.
Alok, also criticized by the publication, responded with more good humor to the publication, which called his presentation an “electronic Christmas tree”: “Who doesn’t like Christmas and an amusement park?”, wrote Goiano. “The best answer for me is the audience reaction. Thank you for your energy yesterday.”
