Despite not having any major releases since 2005, the Rolling Stones singer revealed what helped him during that period
After 18 years of waiting, fans of Rolling Stones were finally presented with the band’s 24th album this Friday (20). But apparently Mick Jagger regrets having waited so long to record a new album.
Beside Keith Richardshis bandmate, Jagger talked to the The Guardianwhere he was asked if he regrets the time gap between releases, to which he responded “more or less”.
Keith [Richards] kept saying in interviews: ‘When Mick I’m ready to record, I’ll do it.’ I went, okay? If that’s all I have to say, great! We got into this rhythm of doing big tours. But there’s no point crying about it now.”
Jagger noted that he and Richards never stopped writing together, which helped in recording Hackney Diamonds, even after so many years away from the studios. “It was only three weeks of recording. Is not difficult. A lot of angst went into the recording beforehand. If it’s not good, it’s not good; if that track doesn’t work, another one will. Do it!”.
HackneyDiamonds brings contributions from Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga It is Elton Johnas well as drum parts from Charlie Watts, the band’s original drummer who died in 2021.
