Singer will star in film written by his son, Austin Dickinson
Bruce Dickinson will make his acting debut in Bjorn of the Deada horror comedy that references ABBA, as reported by deadline. The vocalist of Iron Maiden will be the protagonist in the film written and co-produced by his son, Austin Dickinson.
Set in a world of cover bands, Bjorn of the Dead tells the story of Abbatoir, a group that pays tribute to ABBA. The leader Bjorn (Dickinson) and his companions spend their weekends playing shows to increasingly empty audiences, and are about to give up everything when they decide to enter a band competition. During the competition, they end up trapped in a nightclub when the apocalypse breaks out, and they need to come together to save humanity and the future of music.
Directed by Elza Kephartthe film features special appearances from the world of rock, with a script inspired by an original story by Andrew Prendergastwho classified the text as “an exemplary story about the behind-the-scenes of the music industry”.
