Junior opens up about Sandy’s sudden divorce: ‘Taken by surprise’

Junior Lima has spoken out for the first time about his sister Sandy’s divorce after 15 years of marriage to Lucas Lima. The artist confessed that he was “taken by surprise” by the news, but he understands that the situation could happen at some point.

In an interview with GQ Brasil, Junior explained that he has had a good relationship with the musician since his youth and that his friendship was not affected by his sister’s divorce. “Lucão and I have a great relationship. Since his first relationship with Sandy, those super guys, Lucas and I have created a great friendship – with his whole family, in fact,” she said.

“The separation is something very recent and immediately afterwards they set off on the road. Nothing has really changed since then, because they are very close companions. It happened in the best way. They respect each other a lot. When I they said it, I heard it a lot: Man, we’re so many versions of ourselves throughout our lives, you know? I’ve seen them in so many moments.”

The singer confessed that he didn’t expect the duo to announce their separation in this way: “They started as teenagers. So I think it’s natural. I didn’t imagine, I was taken by surprise, but looking back now you could have expected it. I told them: “From the way you tell me, your relationship is full of maturity. You are taking a step forward to expand your life and be happier,” he tried to justify.

Long-standing history

Sandy Leah and Lucas Lima had been together for 24 years, and had never been involved in public controversies like other couples in the art world. The two were considered one of the most successful celebrity couples of recent years.

However, the marriage ended in September this year, when the singer announced their separation after 15 years together. She stressed that “it was not an easy decision, nor an impulsive one”, in addition to having been made about a month ago.
