Compulsion and its dark aspects are present in the narration of the clip Fuck it, released this Friday (24) by singer Cleo. This is the fifth track on the album Dark popwhich continues a string of releases from the artist who is taking a deep dive into the human psyche in clips from his visual album.
Fucking starts with Cleo waking up on a table set with a rich banquet. The scene unfolds showing the singer struggling to understand and deal with this manifestation of her shadows—the compulsion—whether in her food, behaviors, or addictions. The artist takes viewers on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the dark and often painful origins of these compulsions.
A key element of the video is the presence of a second version of Cleo. That lookalike (double, unfolding of self) symbolizes the internal duality that many face, representing the internal voices that label our behaviors as “good” or “bad,” good” or “bad.”
With this depiction, the singer suggests that, at the heart of our compulsions, there is a constant battle between these two voices. The general direction is Arturo Moric and creative direction of Philip Ribeiro.
