Forfun announces its return and sells out in a few minutes

Another happy rock band from the 2000s has decided to come out into the open. Forfun return to the stage with the Nós tour, or rather, two performances in 2024, the year in which the band will celebrate 23 years on the road.

“Forfun was born to sing a life of joy, optimism, reflection and enthusiasm. We believe that each of us is capable of conveying these messages individually, but only the four of us together are capable of transforming these messages into an action powerful enough to change the people’s lives”, say the band members when announcing their return to the stage.

The first show will take place on August 9, 2024 in Sao Paulo, at Allianz Parque. Immediately afterwards, on August 24, it will be Rio de Janeiro’s turn, with a presentation in Marina da Glória. Ticket sales started this Wednesday (12/6), at Eventim and the official box office, but tickets for the Rio show sold out within minutes.

On social media, fans showed excitement for the shows. There were also those who underlined the importance of the band for the uninitiated: “For those who don’t understand the hype about Forfun, they are RBD for those who spent their pre-adolescence in the south of Rio de Janeiro.” But many complained about the number of shows announced: “Only TWO shows guys?” said one, predicting that tickets would sell out.

Career goals

Formed in 2001 by Danilo Cutrim (vocals and guitar); Vitor Insensee (keyboards, guitar and backing vocals); Nicolas Fassano (drums) and Rodrigo Costa (bass and backing vocals), Forfun received the award for best rock band at MTV’s Video Music Brasil in 2009.

They also reached a historic milestone in late 2012, when they crowdfunded (virtual crowdfunding) to record their first DVD and broke the Brazilian record for the highest fundraising achieved in a music project.

Despite this, the group announced the end of its activities in June 2015.

Fans, however, managed to catch up last year with the launch of the show “Forfun ao Vivo na Fundição” on the band’s official YouTube channel. The show was originally recorded in December 2015, on the occasion of the presentation of their farewell tour, at the Fundição Progresso, in Rio de Janeiro, and its success on the Internet made clear the public’s interest in seeing them live once again time.
