David Bowie’s ‘Starman’ Gets New Version

Classic won a reissue in honor of the 50th anniversary of the album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars

A new version of ‘Starman’ by David Bowie, was launched this Thursday (16). It is an unreleased recording made for the singer for the program Top of the Popsgives BBC.

The release was a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the release of the essential album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Marsreleased on the same date, on June 16, 1972.

The release is reprinted by Parlophone Recordswhich is yet to release a limited version of The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust…this Friday (17).

The new version of ‘Starman’ is a recording made in Trident Studios in London especially to be dubbed on the show. At the beginning of the track, Bowie replaces the line ‘Goodbye, love’ with the pun ‘Hey, brown cow’. Listen below:
