Singer and guitarist for the band Slade, Noddy Holder was friends with Freddie Mercury before Queen became successful and released iconic songs
Known for his work as vocalist and guitarist for the British glam rock band Slade, Noddy Holder recalled the friendship he had with Freddie Mercurylegendary singer and frontman of queen. However, at the beginning of his career, Holder doubted the potential of Mercurydied on November 24, 1991 due to bronchopneumonia.
During a rare interview given to Channel 4 (via The Independent), the artist spoke about his entire experience in the music industry. He also talked about the exuberant costumes he wore in shows in the 1970s, a period in which he met Mercury before having success with queen.
At a certain point in the conversation, he recalled the origins of the iconic mirrored hat — and took the opportunity to deny speculation that he bought it from Freddie Mercury. “I made the top hat out of mirrors,” she said. “I bought the hat at Kensington Market.
