Diogo Nogueira performs at Copacabana New Year’s Eve 2024

Sunday 31 December the singer Diogo Nogueira will be present in the largest New Year’s Eve in the world. The singer is one of the main attractions of Samba stage. The edge of Copacabana it will become a huge stage, full of celebrations, and Diogo will perform at 10pm, in the midst of the Republic of Peru. The event, on the beach, is scheduled to start at 5.30pm.

In 2007, at the beginning of his career, the singer made history in New Year’s Eve in Copacabana performing in front of 2 million people and leading a samba circle on the octagonal stage, which that year was the only stage along the entire beach. Diogo will participate in this traditional festival for the fourth time.

With more than 15 years of career, the artist returns with readings of the hits that have marked his career, such as Foot in the sand, bohemian soul, enlightened AND It’s meDiogo brings to the stage the samba de roda of Bahia and the best of Brazilian popular song, ranging from Arlindo Cruz to Chico Buarque, from Tim Maia to Zeca Pagodinho, 2024 begins and 2023 ends in samba.

The repertoire of the new show Diogo Nogueira embraces and brings the audience closer to the diversity of Brazilian musical styles and sounds. The artist brings songs from her early works as Faith in God AND A poet’s moonas well as paying homage to the masters of Brazilian music with new arrangements Mirror (João Nogueira and Paulo Cesar Pinheiro), classics such as From Lim to Pontal (Tim Maia) e Spring (Cassiano and Silvio Rochael) immortalized by property manager Tim Maia, and emblematic Wandering (Danilo Caymmi, Paulinho Tapajós and Edmundo Souto) e That hug (Gilberto Gil), among others.

The show contains a very touching moment: a tribute to Arlindo Cruz. It begins with a short quote which is then surrounded by the projected image of the artist, creating a fusion between Arlindo playing and Diogo singing. The party is guaranteed and the lineup won’t be the only highlight! Diogo brings back the dance. Always very present in their shows, on and off the stage, dance will be celebrated with the participation of the Leandro Azevedo ballet company – actor, dancer, choreographer, teacher and three-time champion of the Super Dança dos Famosos together with Paolla Oliveira.

OR New Year’s Eve in Copacabana will acquire even more splendor with numerous surprises that will be revealed during the presentation on the LED panel of the stage and with the big band composed of eleven musicians: Rafael dos Anjos (Guitar and Musical Direction), Henrique Garcia (Cavaco), Julio Florindo (Contra – Bass ), Paulo Bonfim (drums), Rafael Delgado (banjo and choir), Gabi D’paula (choir), Alisson Maninho (percussion), Wilsinho Baltazar (percussion), J. Chiclete (percussion), Marechal (percussion) and Fabiano Segalote (Trombone).

The line-up includes other big names, such as: Teresa Cristina, Jorge Aragão, Diogo Nogueira AND Beautifulfrom the DJ Tati da Vila and the samba school Unidos from Viradouro.
