Based on a real Brazilian story from 1988, the film follows worker Nonato (Jorge Paz), who rebels against the president of the time and the difficulties of a country in crisis and orchestrates the hijacking of a commercial flight for an attack on the Presidential Palace. He was suspended from VASP for two months for almost provoking a strike demanding labor rights for his class. Murilo has been married for 15 years and has one son.
RAIMUNDO NONATO (JORGE PAZ)
Raimundo Nonato is a man who comes from a humble family in Maranhão. He recently lost his job as a tractor driver and is struggling to support his family – including his young daughter. Desperate, Nonato decides to assassinate President José Sarney – who he considers responsible for Brazilian hyperinflation – to save the country.
LUZIA (ROBERTA GUALDA)
Luzia is a flight operator for Cindacta (Centro Brasília). Born into a humble family, she fought to be recognized professionally and soon stood out as one of the most efficient employees in her workplace. As a woman (and a civilian), she fights to have a voice and through her intelligence and perception, she manages to achieve her goals.
EVANGELIST (CESAR MELLO)
Evangelista – or Vangelis, as he is affectionately called – is the co-pilot scheduled to carry out flight VASP 375 alongside Commander Murilo. A friend of Murilo’s for years, Evangelista is passionate about music, being a talented guitarist. He is married and has a young daughter (Wendy) who is celebrating her birthday soon.
CLAUDIA (JULIANA ALVES)
Claudia is the chief flight attendant of flight VASP 375. She has worked as a flight attendant for a few years and was influenced by her brother Evangelista to join the career. Claudia is friendly and dedicated, knowing how to take responsibility when necessary. She takes control in the plane’s cockpit while the kidnapping takes place in the cockpit.
BRIGADEIRO BASTOS (ADRIANO GARIB)
Military and Minister of Defense in the Sarney government, Brigadeiro Bastos has his conflicts with the other government ministers who seek to establish once and for all the redemocratization of the Republic through the 1988 Constitution, which is about to be promulgated. DELEGATE RODRIGUES (GABRIEL GODOY)
Member of the Federal Police, Delegate Rodrigues becomes responsible for the rescue operation of VASP flight 375 once it is on the ground – and outside the command of the Air Force. Inexperienced in this type of operation, but strategic and applied, he has the vision to conduct negotiations with Nonato in a calm and incisive way.
