Doja Cat was a victim of domestic violence and theft by her older brother, Raman Dalithando Dlamini. The 28-year-old singer’s mother confirmed the attacks in a report to the judge. The information was revealed by the North American website TMZ, which had access to the trial documents.
According to the report, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer requested a temporary restraining order against her 30-year-old son after Raman broke the artist’s teeth. The matriarch also highlighted that Doja suffered cuts and bruises, as well as having suffered the theft and destruction of some belongings by the boy.
Deborah claims in the documents that Raman verbally abuses his famous sister, “in a very degrading and humiliating way,” and says the boy made Doja feel “unsafe and traumatized.” Her relationship with her son has also been filled with physical attacks and threats over the past year. The most recent incident occurred this month.
The judge granted an order of protection to Doja Cat’s mother pending a permanent restraining order hearing. However, the artist’s request was not granted, as the magistrate believes that the deed should be drawn up by her.
So far Doja Cat has not commented on the accusations made by her mother.
