Singer The weekend released the collaborative track Popular with Playboi Carti and Madonna last Friday (26th) and I received a surprise package with five releases.
The collection includes up-tempo, slowed-down, instrumental and a cappella versions of the global hit. Popular was premiered in 2023 as part of the series’ soundtrack The idol and its original version has already accumulated more than 516 million streams on Spotify. The star also debuted a video for the song featuring behind-the-scenes footage of her performances on the tour Out of hours until dawn.
With over 115 million monthly listeners on Spotify – and being the first artist in history to achieve this feat – The Weeknd establishes his name as one of the most streamed artists worldwide.
