Last Thursday (1), the singer Mariah Carey received the award for his global impact from the recording academy’s Black Music Collective.
In her speech, the singer said: “Is that a real Grammy? I haven’t seen one in so long. It’s weird. I don’t know… We’ll find out what it is later.”
Mariah Carey gave a special thank you on her Instagram. “Thank you for the Global Impact Award. This ceremony was so powerful and beautiful. I think I cried about 3 times,” he wrote.
It is worth mentioning that the singer has already received 34 Grammy nominations, getting only 5. The last time she won the golden gramophone was in 2006, almost 20 years ago.
