RBD members are not permitted to participate in the 2024 Lo Nuestro Awards

Christian Chávez and Christopher von Uckemann, members of the RBD group, were removed from the 2024 Premi Lo Nuestro because they received the wrong invitations and had no available space at the event. The Mexican band competed in two honorable categories and won the trophy for “Group of the Year – Pop”.

The artists shared the embarrassing situation on social media and criticized the organization of the event. “Hello to all the followers! Well, here we are, we left the Lo Nuestro Awards, we will not be with you, because we received the wrong invitations and apparently there were no tables left. This is something that surprises me a little, It seems like a strange organization to me. The candidates [ao prêmio] They couldn’t attend the event because they didn’t have tickets,” Uckermann joked alongside Chávez.

The interpreter of Diego Bustamante (“Rebel”) thanked the public and also reported that he went to Miami specifically for the awards ceremony: “We want to tell everyone and thank all the followers, all over the world, that it really hurts us to have come to Miami and apparently they don’t have our seats. It hurts us, in the name of RBD, but we are bigger than this.”

This morning (23/2), the world’s RBDmaniacs were outraged by the situation, uploaded the hashtag “RBD deserves respect” and recalled that “Chávez has long been banned from the awards ceremony for wearing a pro-rights t-shirt LGBT+ without prior authorization from the organization.”
