Martinho da Vila files a complaint against the INSS for having had his social security allowance suspended and for not having received retroactive amounts since July 2021.
Singer Martinho da Vila filed a lawsuit against the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) after suspending his retirement. The artist has not been paid since July 2021 and is seeking payment of approximately R$80,000 in retroactive amounts.
This was made known by Ancelmo Gois’s article in the newspaper The globe this Thursday 29. According to the journalist, the samba singer only realized in 2023 that the allowance was not paid and discovered that it had been suspended due to lack of proof of life, which is proof that he is still alive and can continue receive social security benefits.
Between October 2022 and June 2023 Martinho took an average of 13 new tests to regain his right.
OR Earth has contacted the INSS to find out the deadline by which the benefit will be reinstated, but has not yet received a response.
