Funky recording gets a minimalist video from the same director as ‘Flowers’ and ‘Used to Be Young’
Miley Cyrus has released a video for a new song, the danceable “Doctor (Work It Out),” in which she forgoes the scenery to simply appear dancing. Minimalist, the only accessory in the clip is the singer’s enormous hair, combed in a drag queen or 80s style. The direction is by Jacob Bixenman, who signed the singer’s most recent videos, such as “Flowers”, “River”, “Jaded” and “I Was Young”.
The song is a new collaboration between the singer and producer – and sometimes singer – Pharrell Williams. The two have worked together on other occasions. The last one was on the track “Come Get It Bae,” from Pharrell’s “GIRL” album, released in 2014.
“Doctor (Work It Out)” is Miley’s first song since her Grammy nod, with wins in the Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Song categories, both for her hit “Flowers.”
Since the funky style of the release is very different from the artist’s previous works, fans believe that a new album – and musical phase – could be on the way, even if Miley hasn’t done anything official about it.
