The k-pop group NCT dream is back with the new album Dream()Landscapeissued by Universal musicthrough SM Entertainment AND Virgo Musical Group and available on all digital platforms. A physical version of the album will be available on WE in the day May 3.
Dream()Landscape has writing and producing contributions to many members of the group. He exhibits a more mature and intense musical color palette than K-pop phenomena. It’s what is expected Dream()Landscape (pronounced like that “dream escape”) attracts listeners from all over the world. It is a set of songs that organically identify with the universal concerns and struggles of young people and, at the same time, carry messages of hope to overcome adversity and grow together.
Smoothiethe main track of the album, is a hip hop catchy with a thumping bassline and rhythmic chants that create an interesting atmosphere. The lyrics capture the essence of joy and positivity NCT dreamencouraging listeners to reject the negativity of the world (and themselves) and transform it into a “shakes”, ready to drink.
As the opening track of the project, I feel nothing symbolizes the artistic growth of the sound of NCT dreamhonestly exposing the fear experienced when moving from a numb reality to an idealistic dream. BOXco-written by Sign, is a danceable hip-hop track with lyrics meant to shake off the feeling of isolation and confinement – and a sound of breaking glass that highlights the conflict of this situation.
With Carat Cake, the EP shifts towards upbeat pop, expressing the various temptations that can be found in unknown worlds. Returning to a more mature and intense feeling, Unknown delivers a comforting message of determination, imploring others to step into an unknown world but ensuring they don’t get lost in the unknown.
Dream()Landscape comes to an end with Breathinga soft ballad that reminds listeners of the importance of breathing in moments of tiredness and desperation, conveying the courage needed to move forward and face the future.
