‘Trap’ Preview Reveals Plot Twist and Features Director’s Daughter as Fictional Singer Lady Raven
Warner Bros. has released the poster and first trailer for “Trap”, the new horror film by M. Night Shyamalan.
The director of “Sexto Sentido”, “The Village”, “Fragmented” and “Tempo” is known for presenting endings with big twists, which are kept completely secret during the promotion of the films. However, this time the twist is in the trailer and is an integral part of the story.
The film stars Josh Hartnett (“Oppenheimer”) as a family man, who finds himself trapped at the concert of pop singer Lady Raven (played by the director’s daughter, Saleka Shyamalan) with her teenage daughter, while the police install cameras security and closes the event location. Worried about the scene, he ends up discovering that the show is a trap to catch a serial killer who is supposedly there. At this moment the audience also discovers that the protagonist’s greatest concern is not the possibility that his daughter becomes the victim of the murderer, but the escape from the siege. He is the serial killer himself.
The film is scheduled to premiere on August 8 in Brazil, one day before its U.S. theatrical release.
