Pacaembu is banned after insisting on a show with Roberto Carlos’ veto

The Municipality of São Paulo justified that the concessionaire did not respect the decisions

Summary

The closure of the Pacaembu Stadium was motivated by the failure to approve three safety assessments carried out by the Fire Brigade and the Municipality of São Paulo.

OR Pacaembu stadium was closed after the dealership Allegra Pacaembu insisted on maintaining the Show vetoed by Roberto Carlos this Friday the 19th at 7pm, according to the newspaper’s columnist Mônica Bergamo Folha de S.Paulo.

The City of São Paulo revealed that the stadium is not authorized to host the event for safety reasons, as it failed all three assessments carried out by the Fire Brigade and the Municipal Planning Department.

According to the inspection, the venue, which has undergone renovation work, is unable to accommodate the 3,000 people expected at the event.

According to the publication, the dealership said it will appeal the decision by requesting a writ of mandamus in court. The company declared that it had complied with the requirements to guarantee the show.

The Fire Brigade reported that the stadium was notified for lack of license in force this Thursday 18th. According to the Civil Police report, other problems were also found on site, such as: obstruction of emergency exits; lack of escape route signs; pressurized stairs not working; emergency exit doors without panic bars; fire detection system not working; defective smoke control system; absence of fire extinguishers; breakdown of compartmentation in some places; and uneven paving due to uncompleted work.

To comply with the decision of the municipal management, the employees of the Subprefecture of Sé will place bags of cement on site to prevent the passage of the public.
